Multicats
Samson Express Offshore currently own and operate three multicats. These incredibly versatile vessels are now recognised in Australia as vital equipment on coastal construction projects, and have been engaged on projects such as:
- Woodside's Pluto project;
- BHP Billiton's Finucane Island wharf development;
- Rio Tinto's Cape Lambert wharf development;
- Sydney Ports' Botany Bay development;
- Gorgon development dredge operations; and
- Shallow water anchor handling for inshore and coastal projects.
Tugs
Our fleet of tugs range from 27 to 44 ton bollard pull in conventional and ASD drive systems and have successfully carried out tows Australia-wide. The smaller of the tugs has a custom pushing knee on the bow for efficient inshore and harbour barge operations. Through our JV partners Miclyn Express Offshore, we have access to various types of ofsshore vessels ranging from OSV, AHTS, PSV and much more.
Hydrographic Survey Vessels
We currently operate six hydrograhic survey vessels ranging in size from 12 to 21 metres, in both mono and catamaran hull. These vessels have been specifically modified for this role with the inclusion of built in moon pools and dedicated work stations.
Crew Transfer Vessels
Our crew transfer vessels have been designed to provide safe and efficient crew transfer solutions between shore based facilities, vessels and barges.
40 metre vessels
Our two 40 metre vessels (the Samson Supplier and the Samson Supporter) are state-of-the-art design and new to the Australian coast.
These vessels provide the highest standard of crew comfort and amenities to allow operation on the Australian coast and feature a substantial 60 tonne load carrying capacity, business class seating for 50 passengers, a shallow draft and a high operating speed of 25 knots. These vessels are the first of a new class of high-speed Dynamic Positioned class 1 mono-hulls and will be one of the most capable fast crew/supply vessels in the world.
Samson Supplier and the Samson Supporter will offer safe and efficient transportation to and from offshore installations, enabling logistics managers to establish efficient loop-style routes between high-traffic platforms and shore-base operations.
They are equipped with state-of-the-art electronics, communications and navigation systems.
Their certified DP1 rating, combined with its wide and stable work deck, will allow the vessel to hold station in weather conditions in which other vessels simply could not work. Additional to their normal operational functions, they also open up new possibilities for playing a major role in emergency operations and cyclone evacuation from the remote locations of oil and gas rigs.
